AFFINITY SCHOOLS NYCDOE CITYWIDE OFFICE
In July 2015, Chancellor Fariña announced the opening of eight Field Support Centers with the goal of each center providing high-quality, differentiated support in instruction, operations, and student services as well as support for English Language Learners and students with special needs. As part of the DOE's commitment to "Strong Schools, Strong Communities," the Affinity Field Support Center provided streamlined support to principals, teachers, and school staff from 160+ schools to ensure college and career success for all students.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY
In 2018 all Field Support Centers (FSCs) were rebranded as Borough/Citywide Offices (B/COs) to represent the distinct districts, supports, and services they perform for NYC schools. Affinity Schools NYCDOE Citywide Office (formerly known as Affinity FSC) under the new leadership of Executive Superintendent Recy Benjamin Dunn, continues to offer high-quality support to its schools.
Uniquely structured by core teams, Affinity supports 160+ schools across the five NYC boroughs, directly and through unique relationships with six Affinity partner organizations. Affinity's success as a citywide office is guided by the Chancellor's commitment to "Equity and Excellence for All", Affinity's goals and priorities, which align to the Chancellor's objectives and priorities, and the commitment of Affinity staff to provide excellence to our students and schools.
